The Lost Girl

Identical twins Iris and Lark are upset when their parents place them in separate fifth-grade classrooms and require them to choose different after-school activities. As Lark increasingly withdraws, Iris worries about her sister and finds comfort at a curious shop called Treasure Hunters. Its owner, Mr. Green, tells Iris about his sister Alice, who vanished years earlier. Missing objects, crows, and a growing sense of foreboding accompany Iris’s search for understanding. At the center of the story are the sisters’ relationship and the ways girls can be dismissed, overlooked, or ignored.
