The Hotel Balzaar

Marta lives with her mother, who works as a maid, in the attic of the Hotel Balzaar. Her father has been away at war and has not contacted them for more than a year, yet Marta still hopes for his return. She quietly explores the hotel until a countess arrives with a parrot and promises to tell her seven stories. As the countess’s tales unfold, Marta notices connections and wonders what they reveal about her father and the strange events around her.
