Quagmire Tiarello Coudn't Be Better

Mylisa Larsen

On the first day of summer vacation, fourteen-year-old Quentin “Quagmire” Tiarello hopes to sleep late, eat junk food, play video games, and perhaps see Cassie Byzinski. Instead, he encounters his mother during one of her “spinning” moods. Used to coping with her mental illness by staying out of her way, Quag heads outside and meets Cassie, who invites him to art camp. There he joins a group making a radio show, discovers a talent for sound effects, and begins to connect with drama students. Later, his mother insists he get into the car, beginning a trip Quag cannot steer as he once could.
