Love, Violet

Violet has strong feelings for her classmate Mira but becomes shy whenever Mira starts a conversation. In her imagination, Violet performs heroic acts and shares adventures with Mira. She makes a glittery heart valentine addressed to Mira and works up the courage to give it to her on Valentine’s Day. When the exchange leads to a classroom commotion, Violet runs away embarrassed. During recess, she remembers Mira’s kindnesses, including compliments and invitations to play, and begins to think she may have a chance.
