Flying Up the Mountain
Elizabeth-Irene Baitie
Ato travels with friends Dzifa and Leslie to Nnoma, an island environmental sanctuary his late father helped create. Visiting children compete in environmental challenges, and members of the leading teams may be named Asofa, or earth protectors. Ato wants that recognition, but he is also looking for a message his father supposedly left behind. Team conflicts and a rival complicate his efforts when he learns that people connected to the sanctuary may be plotting to mine its resources.
