A tiny orange spaceman lands on Earth to collect soil samples but becomes distracted by a towering red flower. When a bird carries off his spaceship, he follows it into unfamiliar surroundings. Frightened by a dog, he runs until morning brings more creatures, including a butterfly that carries him before dropping him into a pond. The dog retrieves him from the water, and the spaceman eventually spots his ship in a tree.
