The Museum of Lost and Found

An abandoned building with remnants of its former life as a museum inspires sixth grader Vanessa to curate an exhibit about her recently ended friendship with Bailey. Her classmate Eli adds a display about his late dog, while Vanessa’s brother Sterling contributes baseball cards that connect him to their father, who is deploying to Afghanistan. Vanessa also becomes absorbed in a painting of two young women that may be a lost work by a living artist. The museum gives shape to questions about friendship, loss, change, and family tensions.
