A house watches neighboring homes light up for Diwali, Hanukkah, and Christmas while it remains undecorated after a new family moves in. On Christmas Day, relatives gather inside, but Huda’s parents leave for work so colleagues can spend the holiday with their own families. The house shares in the family’s busy day of play and visits, then hears Huda’s parents promise that they will celebrate together when Eid arrives a few months later. Looking ahead to the lights they will hang, the house comes to feel filled with love and hope.
