Santa’s First Christmas
Mac Barnett
In the old days, Santa spends each Christmas making and delivering toys, then begins preparing the following year’s gifts immediately afterward. A passing polar bear notices his relentless schedule, prompting the elves to arrange a Christmas Day celebration for him. Santa’s new routine includes breakfast in bed, choosing and decorating a tree, hanging stockings, baking cookies, and sharing a large dinner. At first surprised, he soon joins the activities enthusiastically. The day ends with the North Pole village lit for the holiday and a mysterious bearded visitor delivering gifts.
