The Callers

Quin belongs to a family of Callers in Elipsom, people said to summon needed food and resources. He has never been able to Call anything, and when he appears to succeed at his test, he learns his sister performed the act. Quin begins to question what he has been taught about his world. Through Allie, who lives in Evantra on the other side of the planet, he discovers that Calling takes resources from Evantra rather than creating them. The ruling Council, led by Quin’s mother, maintains a system in which Evantra’s people grow food for Elipsom and are made to serve it.
