Shabbat Shalom!
Douglas Florian
On a Friday evening, a Jewish family hurries home as the Sabbath begins. They dress for dinner, light candles, and join grandparents at a table set with challah and kiddush wine. After a prayer over the bread, the family shares a meal, songs, and conversation. The evening closes when the mother takes her three sleepy children upstairs and tucks them into their shared bedroom. Simple rhyming couplets accompany the family’s celebration.
