The Big House and the Little House
Yoshi Ueno
Big Bear and Little Mouse live at opposite ends of a long road, one in a large house and the other in a small one. Although both feel lonely, their daily trips take them away from each other. When each sets out in the opposite direction looking for a friend, they pass without meeting. Later they finally encounter one another by Bear’s house, share tea, and arrange another visit. A storm then sends Bear hurrying to help Mouse, whose home is beside the river.
