Running through Sprinklers

Twelve-year-old Sara and Nadine have been inseparable since infancy, sharing families and traditions as biracial girls: Sara is Korean and white, and Nadine is Japanese and white. As summer before seventh grade ends, Sara is unsettled by the disappearance of Daniel Monroe and Nadine’s plan to skip a grade and enter high school. Feeling that Nadine is leaving her behind, Sara focuses on grades in the hope of advancing too. She grows closer to Nadine’s younger sister Jen but continues to want her friendship with Nadine restored.
