Paws is an elderly dog spending a day with Edward, the child who cares for him. He is tired and remembers earlier days when he chased rabbits. Paws still accompanies Edward to the park twice daily because Edward needs time outdoors. That night, Paws dies while asleep. Edward is left grieving the loss, but as he goes to bed, he comes to understand that Paws is somewhere better.
