Rafael describes using an inhaler for asthma, while Anthony uses a wheelchair to move from place to place. Through thirteen fictional children with physical or cognitive differences, the story uses questions and answers to introduce many lived experiences. The book connects fictional Sonia with author Sonia Sotomayor, who is also diabetic. It encourages curiosity while recognizing that some people may not wish to answer questions and that adults can help when children are not ready to respond.
