Old Rock (Is Not Boring)

Tall Pine, Spotted Beetle, and Hummingbird assume that Old Rock’s unmoving life must be dull. Old Rock tells them otherwise, recalling being thrown from an erupting volcano, seeing dinosaurs, traveling in a glacier, and tumbling from a ridge into a valley where mastodons lived. He also remembers watching a seedling become the tall pine beside him. His friends share reports from their own movements through the world, while Old Rock remains content where he is. A final page identifies time periods from his long history.
