Oh, Sal

Four-year-old Sal is having a difficult winter-holiday day. A new baby sister, only a little over a week old, has joined the family; her uncle’s teasing unsettles her; and one pair from her favorite day-of-the-week underpants has disappeared. Sal searches for the missing Wednesday pair and wants to tell Mama or Papa what she discovers, without involving Billy or Uncle Jack. Finding private time with her parents proves especially hard while the baby needs Mama’s attention. As pizza dough rises for dinner, Sal writes Mama a letter.
