Ikenga

A year after the unsolved murder of his father, the former police chief of Kaleria, Nigeria, twelve-year-old Nnamdi briefly encounters his father’s ghost and receives the magical Ikenga statue. Its power lets him become an unusually strong adult, and he begins confronting persistent criminals in his community. Hoping to identify the person behind his father’s death, Nnamdi finds that repeated transformations make both his power and anger harder to control. When public coverage turns the mysterious avenger into a figure of fear, a classmate’s kidnapping leads Nnamdi and his friend Chioma further into the case.
