When Langston Dances
Kaija Langley
Langston enjoys basketball, but ballet is what he loves most. After seeing an Alvin Ailey dance concert, he begins practicing before his first class. At the studio, he passes tap, African dance, and hip-hop classes before reaching ballet. Although the other students are girls, Langston copies their first-position stance from the doorway. His teacher gives him dance shoes and tells him that becoming a ballet dancer requires hard work. The closing images show an older Langston dancing.
