Walter Had a Best Friend

Walter the mouse and Xavier the duck are best friends who share activities and comfortable silences. Their relationship changes when Penelope, a hedgehog, becomes close to Xavier. Although Penelope and Xavier try to include Walter, Walter feels that their time together has changed. He becomes lonely and sad, and for a while believes he hates them, though he recognizes that he truly misses his friend. On a sunny day, Walter sets out alone on a new hiking trail and enjoys being outdoors. There he meets a badger named Ollie, opening the possibility of a new connection.
