There Might Be Lobsters
Carolyn Crimi
Sukie, Eleanor’s small dog, finds a beach day full of alarming possibilities. Stairs, shells, beach balls, waves, and the possibility of lobsters all make her anxious, so she stays close to her toy monkey, Chunka Munka, while Eleanor goes into the water. When a wave carries the toy away, Sukie leaves her safe spot and swims after it. The story follows her shift from fearful watchfulness to a brave effort to recover her friend.
