The Unexpected Love Story of Alfred Fiddleduckling
Timothy Basil Ering, illustrated by Timothy Basil Ering
Captain Alfred sails home with a duck egg in his fiddle case when a storm breaks apart his boat. The duckling hatches and drifts alone through fog in half of the broken case. He clings to the captain’s floating fiddle, which makes music, and later comes ashore. There he meets the captain’s dog, and they share an appreciation for the instrument’s sound. The music eventually helps bring the captain’s wife to them and guides Captain Alfred home.
