The Stolen Prince of Cloudburst

At Esther’s boarding school, nearly everyone thinks new teacher Mrs. Pollock is amusing, but Esther finds her teasing cruel. Other worries are mounting: Esther’s historian father believes environmental changes affecting the oceans are caused by an evil force, and Shadow Mages attack the school. With only limited magic skills, Esther tries to protect those around her while Mrs. Pollock’s treatment weakens her already fragile confidence. Esther later discovers powers greater than she expected, but accepting them requires revisiting a traumatic memory that may explain her mother’s distance.
