The Shape of Lost Things

Twelve-year-old Skye’s brother Finn returns after being gone for two years, following their father’s kidnapping of him after their parents’ divorce. Skye has missed Finn and feels abandoned, believing their father chose him because he was more special. Back in their family’s home, Finn no longer seems like the funny, protective brother she remembers. When Skye notices that his elbow lacks a scar she recalls, she begins privately calling him “Not-Finn” and gathers signs that he may be an impostor. Each chapter ends with a photograph Skye has taken.
