The Red Bicycle: The Extraordinary Story of One Ordinary Bicycle

This nonfiction picture book traces one red bicycle through several lives. Leo rides it to school, soccer practice, and other places until he outgrows it. After it is donated to an organization that provides bicycles in Africa, it travels from North America to Ghana and then Burkina Faso. Alisetta uses it for trips to her family’s fields and to market. Later, a repair group converts the bicycle into a clinic ambulance, which Haridata rides between villages while volunteering for the clinic.
