The Q
Amy Tintera
In a near-future version of Austin, Texas, walls isolate the city to contain a virus. The U.S. government sends supplies, but the city’s north and south are largely controlled by rival groups: the Spencers in the north and the Lopez family in the south. Seventeen-year-old Maisie Rojas is the daughter of Isaac Rojas, once the Lopez family’s enforcer, but she doubts that she can assume his role. Nineteen-year-old Lennon Pierce, the estranged son of a Democratic senator running for president, is kidnapped outside the walls and left inside the Q. The Lopez family finds him and places him in Maisie’s care.
