The Old Man
Sarah V, illustrated by Claude K
A child starts her day in the city while an older man wakes after a cold night on the street. Hungry and often disturbed by other people, he rides a bus and tries to check into a shelter, but cannot remember the name required for entry. In a park, the child gives him a sandwich and says that he resembles a teddy bear. Encouraged by this exchange, he returns to the shelter and identifies himself as Teddy.
