The Mermaid, the Witch, and the Sea

Flora, also known as Florian, is an orphaned Black sailor aboard the Dove, a pirate vessel disguised as a passenger ship. Evelyn, a young woman from the ruling Nipran empire, is traveling toward an arranged marriage. During the voyage, the two fall in love. When members of the crew capture a mermaid for the black market, Evelyn is horrified, and Flora helps her and the mermaid flee. The voyage exposes that passengers, including Evelyn, are intended for enslavement. Later, Flora and Evelyn encounter a witch, work to rescue Flora’s brother, and seek justice for harm done to the mermaids.
