A HOUSE
Kevin Henkes
A square house appears again and again at different times of day and in changing seasons. Strong lines and simple shapes frame questions addressed directly to the child, inviting attention to windows, the moon, shapes, colors, numbers, and comparisons. At the end, a multicolored doll family enters the house, revealing that the building may have been a toy house all along. The book centers on looking closely and responding to what appears on the page.
