Alexandra is a biracial teen adopted as a small child by white parents. Although she looks Black, she has had little connection with Black students at her high school and feels her family is unable to discuss race openly. When she finds letters from her African American birth father that her parents kept from her, she begins to question their choices and her own identity. Dating Reggie, a Black boy she meets through baseball, adds another relationship in which Alex struggles to be fully honest about her experience.
