Pathfinders: The Journeys of 16 Extraordinary Black Souls

This collective biography introduces sixteen American men and women of African descent whose lives span the eighteenth through twentieth centuries. Their accomplishments include work as bankers, soldiers, filmmakers, architects, attorneys, mathematicians, spies, a concert singer, and a combat pilot. Among those profiled are Sissieretta Jones and Eugene Bullard. Archival images and photographs, along with back matter, accompany these accounts of Black Americans who made their mark on United States history.
