Outside, Inside

A diverse neighborhood changes when people who had been outside move indoors during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown. Families adjust to sharing small spaces, while hospital workers care for patients and sometimes lose them. The story shows worry and grief alongside new ways of connecting: birthdays become drive-by events, and encouraging signs appear near empty playgrounds. As people shelter in place, they find ways to continue daily life and grow through the disruption. The book ends with the outside world beginning to open again.
