Out of My Heart

Twelve-year-old Melody, who has cerebral palsy, spends a week at a camp designed for disabled children. Her tent mates include Karyn, who also uses a wheelchair, Athena, who has Down syndrome, and Jocelyn, who is neurodivergent. Although campers have different ways of communicating and receiving assistance, Melody feels she belongs. With her tent mates, she asks for time without continual counselor supervision; camp also brings swimming, horseback riding, and a crush on Noah.
