My Two Border Towns

Before sunrise, a boy and his father make their weekly trip across the United States–Mexico border. They drive beside the Rio Grande, cross a bridge, pass through border patrol, and enter a Mexican town. There they have breakfast, visit the boy’s aunt and uncle at their jewelry store, and shop for groceries and prescription medicine. They also buy clothing, water, and sweets for friends waiting on the bridge between the two countries, hoping to enter the United States. The journey shows the connections between the boy’s two towns.
