Kitten and the Night Watchman

As evening falls, a night watchman leaves his family and begins his solitary shift watching over a city lot filled with parked heavy equipment. During his rounds, a small kitten emerges from beneath a truck and trails after him. He shares his meal with the kitten during a break, then worries when she vanishes. The kitten eventually returns, and the watchman continues until dawn. When he heads home at the end of the night, he has company rather than making the trip by himself.
