Jacob’s Missing Book

At bedtime, Jacob picks a penguin book he had hoped to find in his school library. The following day, he asks his teacher to share it at story time, but she explains that it has been removed while the school responds to objections about some library and classroom books. Jacob and his classmates wonder why the book is unavailable and discuss what might be wrong with it. Their conversation later inspires a recess game about nesting penguins. The story addresses censorship, book banning, and a family with two fathers.
