Homebody

This graphic memoir follows Theo Parish’s ongoing exploration of gender identity and their effort to feel at home in their body. Theo introduces their experience as transgender and nonbinary, then looks back on a childhood with a loving family alongside gender expectations that felt uncomfortable outside home. In college, community with art students made space for changes in appearance. Learning about nonbinary identities, choosing the name Theo, and building closer relationships become part of the memoir’s unfolding account.
