Humaira “Hani” Khan and Ishita “Ishu” Dey are Bengali students at an Irish secondary school and the only South Asians in their year. Hani is a popular, devout Muslim student whose friends dismiss her bisexual identity because she has dated boys. Ishu is studious and hopes that greater popularity will help her become head girl. After Hani claims she is dating Ishu, the two agree to pretend to be a couple. As they keep up the arrangement, they begin to find more common ground than either expected.
