Growing Up Pedro

Pedro Martínez’s baseball career begins in the Dominican Republic, where he watches his older brother Ramón play and practices throwing rocks at mangos. Following Ramón’s path, Pedro attends the Los Angeles Dodgers’ baseball academy before leaving home to play in the United States. He works on English while advancing through the minor leagues, then pitches for the Montreal Expos and Boston Red Sox. Throughout their careers, the brothers support each other and remain committed to their home country.
