Ever Cursed

Jane, the eldest of five royal sisters, lives under a spell that gives each girl a different deprivation when she turns thirteen. Jane cannot eat; her sisters are denied love, sleep, memory, and, soon, hope. As the curse nears a permanent turning point, Jane’s need to free herself and her family brings her into contact with Reagan, the young witch responsible for it. Told through both Jane’s and Reagan’s perspectives, the novel confronts the king’s abuse of power and examines sexism, privilege, compassion, and the consequences of willful ignorance.
