Enter the Body

Lavinia, Cordelia, Ophelia, and Juliet have died onstage repeatedly because their Shakespearean stories demand it. Beneath the stage, in the Trap Room, they begin sharing the parts of their lives that their scripts leave out. Told in differing verse styles, their accounts present them as young women with dreams, laughter, longing, and losses beyond their plot roles. They challenge and question one another in contemporary young-adult voices, revisiting their stories and imagining how they might reshape them.
