Chasing the Sun

This book follows a female Arctic tern through a full year of migration. She travels more than 50,000 miles between Antarctica and Alaska’s Arctic coast, then makes the return journey south with her mate and newly hatched chick. Maps and calendars on many spreads mark her changing location and distance traveled. Along the route, the tern passes over other land and sea creatures while the illustrations keep her at the center.
