Jasmin and her family return to their house in the woods after a forest fire. As they drive through the damaged area, her parents prepare the children for what they may find. Their house remains intact, though the barn is gone. At a neighbor’s property, Jasmin discovers an orphaned bear cub with burns. After contacting a local veterinarian, the family provides temporary care at home. The children are drawn to the cub, nicknamed Boo-Boo, while learning that wild animals need something different from pets.
