Angel of Greenwood
Randi Pink
Set in Greenwood, Tulsa’s Black Wall Street, this novel follows two African American teenagers, Angel and Isaiah, as they gradually form a connection through poetry and dance. Isaiah keeps a journal and writes poems in secret, while Angel is isolated at school as her father’s health declines and her family faces financial strain. Their developing relationship unfolds against the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre, when a White mob burns the Greenwood district.
