After visiting relatives in Pakistan, Amina returns to Wisconsin for seventh grade feeling changed by the trip. She especially values time with her cousin Zohra and promises her uncle that she will show people in America Pakistan’s beauty. Her friends are not interested in hearing about the visit. For a social-studies project, Amina chooses Malala Yousafzai, but classmates focus on violence and restrictions on girls’ education. Amina reconsiders the project in order to broaden their understanding of Pakistan.
