A Map into the World

Over a year in a new home, Hmong American girl Paj Ntaub makes simple discoveries in her garden and neighborhood. Her family welcomes twin brothers, while across the street their neighbor Bob grieves after Ruth dies. Paj Ntaub gathers leaves, snowballs, and a worm as treasures, then visits Bob with her mother. Using sidewalk chalk, she creates an elaborate map on his driveway.
