Twigs and Stones

Snake and Lizard share a home beneath a desert rock and usually get along, though not always perfectly. Lizard uses twigs to spell their names above the entrance, but a wind scatters the letters in Snake’s name. Trying to repair it in the dark, Lizard creates an unintended insult and laughs, upsetting Snake. Snake then alters Lizard’s name in retaliation. Faced with the new sign, the two friends recognize that the exchange has stopped being funny and must move beyond their argument.
