The World in a Second

This picture book follows events occurring at the same instant in places around the world. Its scenes include a storm-tossed boat in the Baltic Sea, people trapped in a New York elevator, a soccer ball heading for a Greek window, a man on a Tokyo bench, and someone entering a home in Italy. Each spread is numbered, and a map at the end identifies its location and local time. The book closes with a girl reading as the story reaches its end.
