The Spells We Cast

Nigel Barrett has prepared throughout his life for the Culling, a contest that decides which teenage magicians will lose their powers in order to maintain magical balance. He meets Ori Olson, a rival whose sharp manner conceals a painful history. As Nigel and Ori grow closer, their abilities become stronger, but the competition becomes more dangerous. They come to see that their connection may affect magic, their futures, and humanity.
