The Mystery of the Haunted Dance Hall

In the 1960s, Bee is sent to a summer camp devoted to ornithology while her mother works in New York City. A loner with unusually sensitive hearing, Bee has learned to close auditory “gates” to reduce the sounds around her. At camp, she becomes friends with Zippy, who can see in darkness, and joins Felicity in looking into a troubling pattern among the older Hawks. Their search leads the three girls to a concealed trapdoor and an underground passage, where Bee hears the older campers’ voices.
